I was inspired by The Garden parasol by Frederick Frieseke.
I really liked the colors and lines of this painting. The colors we're light and flowy and seems to be perfectly placed, and the lines we're soft and done loosely, but seemed to still be painted realistically. The dresses had perfect fold lines and the shading was very distinct.
So for my painting inspired by Frieseke I decided to keep the girl and sunshine and feminine side of it, but also add a bit of my old style to it. I added a bunch of colors like blue and red that aren't normally associated with very light things. I added flowers and a very green background to add scenery. For her umbrella I added frills to make it look for high and sophisticated. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out because I am not the best with acrylic paint.
